その願い、絶望よりも深く、憎しみよりも強靭 陶器職人の主人公・誠治と、海外で活躍する誠治の息子・学、そんな父子に助けられる在日ブラジル人青年マルコスの3人を軸に、国籍・文化・境遇の違いを超えて"家族"を作ろうとする人々を描いた感動の物語。 ――陶器職人の神谷誠治は妻を早くに亡くし、山里で独り暮らし。アルジェリアに赴任中の一人息子の学が、難民出身のナディアと結婚し、彼女を連れて一時帰国した。結婚を機に会社を辞め、焼き物を継ぐと宣言した学に反対する誠治。一方、隣町の団地に住む在日ブラジル人青年のマルコスは半グレに追われたときに助けてくれた誠治に亡き父の面影を重ね、焼き物の仕事に興味を持つ。そんなある日、アルジェリアに戻った学とナディアを悲劇が襲い・・・。
