Fukushima Songscape

We edited the interview in the style of a radio program, and recorded it in 200 songs. In 2019, we will form an "Accompanying Support Band (BSB)" that will play the residents' memorable songs. Musicians living in the Kanto area played songs based on the residents' stories, and the residents themselves and their friends sang in their own voices. And then came the Corona Disaster. Because they could not meet in person, they recorded their songs and performances at their respective locations to create a single piece of music. This is how "Fukushima Songscape" was born.

いわき市にある福島県復興公営住宅・下神白団地には、2011年の東京電力福島第一原子力発電所事故により富岡・大熊・浪江・双葉町から避難してきた方が暮らしています。2016年末からはじまった「ラジオ下神白」では、住民さんのお宅でまちの思い出と、当時の馴染み深い曲について話を伺ってきました。それをラジオ番組風に編集し、200世帯を一軒一軒訪ね、住民さんだけが聞けるCDとしてお届けしました。2019年には、住民さんの思い出の曲のバック演奏を行う"伴奏型支援バンド(BSB)"を結成。関東在住のミュージシャンが住民さんのエピソードを踏まえながら演奏し、本人や友人が「その人の声」で歌う新しい交流がはじまりました。そして、コロナ禍へ。直接会えないからこそ、それぞれの場所で歌と演奏を録音し、ひとつの楽曲をつくることになります。こうして生まれたのが『福島ソングスケイプ』です。
