快挙!「絶対零度」(1979-1982)全未発表音源2CD+2CD同時発売 !! オリジナルにこだわり続けそのあまりの独自性に、また短い活動期間だったため現在に至るまで言及されたことのない"謎"のバンド、絶対零度。波止康雄(Vo)、笹山照雄(G,Vo)、大熊ワタル(Kbd,Vo)、中川一郎(B)、木村真哉(Ds,As)、前歴なく音楽性の異なる5人で1979年9月始動、間もなく吉祥寺マイナー「剰余価値分解工場」に出演を重ねる。互いに強調なく出される音は混沌を極め激情型のステージが評判を呼び1980年からはロフトなどに出演するようになり8月、小島さちほ(ゼルダ)の自主レーベル、ジャンクコネクションからリザードに続くEP『絶対零度』が発売、しかし直後Voの波止が脱退。以後は初期のカオティックなサウンドから次の状態、インスト中心のプログレッシヴかつオルタナティヴサウンドを展開していくようになり、今回の発売はこの第2期以降の音源で編成している。カバーやインプロビゼイションを行わない独特のサウンドは東芝EMIからも声がかかりEMIスタジオでのプリプロ録音から3曲、1980年10月伝説のロフトライブ(共演:ゼルダ、午前四時)から6曲、中川一郎脱退(81年3月)に代わる坂口透(フレットレスベース)加入後のジャズにも通じる透明な緊張感が支持を得た時期の録音など全22曲2枚組で構成した。
