Description

[Machine Translation] Nautilus" 1st album, a new generation of funk that will make DJs roar with its cool and mellow funk! The band's name is derived from a Bob James song, and the album is a collection of original funk tunes that are both cool and mellow. NautilusFunk band formed in 2014 by Toshiyuki Sasaki (ds), Shigeki Umezawa (bs) and Daisuke Takeuchi (key). Inspired by Bob James' song "Nautilus," the band weaves together the image of the real submarine Nautilus and creates a deep worldview that invites you into the deep sea, while pursuing the rare groove sound of the 70's. All of the original songs are composed by Sasaki. All of the original songs are composed by Sasaki, and while he incorporates plenty of rhythmic tricks that only a drummer can do, he also demonstrates his talent outside of the drums, such as a sense of melody and chords. The music is a mixture of Sasaki's flexible and powerful drumming, which is active in many genres including jazz and pop, Umezawa's gospel, hip-hop-inspired bass lines, and Takeuchi's classical tastes. The cover of the album also includes Roy Ayers and Grammy nominated artists. Sasaki's arrangements of the covers, which include Roy Ayers, Gil Scott Heron, and other well-loved favorites, are so well done that even the most celebrated DJs are impressed with his ability to create a unique sound.

Nautiloid Matter / Nautilus
