In 2016, the band started with violinist Naho Shibata at the invitation of pianist Asako Yada, and in 2017, contrabassist Kenji Azumaya joined the group. After graduating from Waseda University's Orquesta de Tango Waseda, known as the only authentic tango circle in Japan, she deepened her knowledge of tango, and since then has been performing throughout the Tokai region. Asako Yada, piano, has an established reputation for her tango groove, from classic tango to modern tango such as Piazzolla. On violin, Naho Shibata, who studied under Fernando Suarez Paz, is active in many fields, making use of her emotionally rich sound in her solo performances and in her band "Last Tango," which often visits Buenos Aires to record. On bass, Kenji Higashitani, who has been the bandmaster of Orquesta de Tango Waseda since 1991, has performed with Omar Valente, Carlos Niesi, and many other musicians in the tango scene, including "El Tango Vivo" and "Orquesta Aurora".

活気溢れるブエノスアイレスの街角への扉が、今開くこれぞタンゴといわれる、渋さや粋な部分はそのままに、現代の感覚が溢れる「プエルタンゴ」のサウンドは、タンゴを愛する人達へ、そしてタンゴを聞いたことのない人達へも響くだろう。活気溢れるブエノスアイレスの街角への扉が、今開く。■PROFILEプエルタンゴ、待望のファーストアルバム!2016年ピアニスト矢田麻子の呼びかけにより、ヴァイオリニスト柴田奈穂と始動。2017年東谷健司のコントラバスが加わる。日本で唯一の本格的なタンゴサークルとして知られる早稲田大学オルケスタ・デ・タンゴ・ワセダでタンゴへの造詣を深め、卒業後は東海地方を中心に各地で演奏活動を展開、ブエノスアイレスでは、クリスチャン・サラーテ氏に師事、古典タンゴからピアソラなどのモダンまでタンゴのノリに定評のあるピアノ矢田麻子。バイオリンは、フェルナンド・スアレス・パス氏に師事し、ソロや自身のバンド「LAST TANGO」でもブエノスアイレスを度々訪れレコーディングするなど、情感溢れる音を生かして多方面で活動中の柴田奈穂。そして、ベースには、91年オルケスタ・デ・タンゴ・ワセダのバンドマスターをつとめ、以降オマール・バレンテ氏、カルロス・ニエシ氏ら多数の本場ミュージシャンと共演し、「エル・タンゴ・ビーボ」「オルケスタ・アウロラ」など多くのタンゴシーンで活動中の東谷健司。
