喜納昌吉、8年振りのアルバムリリース「想い花」初収録に加え、時代を創って来た男・知名定繁、詞曲「嘆きの梅」も収録、スタジオ録音、全11曲。未来ある子ども達にこの40年を伝えたい。去年2011年12月1日画期的なLIVEがコザの街であった。「LIVEコザ2011 三線SAMURAI～島うた40年史～」出演:知名定男、喜納昌吉、照屋林賢 司会:南こうせつ。沖縄音楽界の礎、島うたブームを創り上げた先駆者3氏が40年の時を越えて初めて同じ舞台に立つというLIVEであった。客席には宮沢和史、BEGIN(比嘉栄昇、島袋優、上地等)、大島保克、よなは徹、大城クラウディア、奈須重樹、桑江良美などのミュージシャンの他に版画家名嘉睦稔、編集者新城和博などの姿もあった。人の声には歴史があり変遷があるようだ。1977年発表「ハイサイオジサン」から聞いて来た喜納昌吉。彼の声には魂があり、年齢と共に増した存在感がある。もしかすると、彼の音楽以外での活動が複雑に入り交り、置かれている立場がそうさせるのか、嫌われ者の理解しがたい人間像が創り出した神ガカイ的な声(Voice)、叫び、語り、祈り、そしてうた声。そのうた声には35年の歴史と重みがある。時代は目くるめく、人も別れと出会いを繰り返し「ユッタイ クワッタイ ウムシルムン」。そんな心境であるが、喜納昌吉のうた声が非常に良かっただけに頭から離れずに年が明け、「復帰40周年」となる2012年を迎える。話は8年振りのCD制作作業へと進み、2月にはレコーディングを開始、余裕の11曲を収録する。先人は良く言ったものである「うた三線」。三線の前にうたがあり、うたありきで楽器三線が存在するとの意味で捉えるが、ウチナー三線は洋楽器と交わり立体的に世界観を広げ、その旋律に乗ったウチナー口の心地よい響き。CD「Nirai Pana」はその響きと30数年前のうたを喜納昌吉自身が再生、歌詞は今の時代にも十分に説得力があり存在するから驚きである。喜納昌吉の魂をも揺さぶる音楽は沖縄発ワールドミュージックとして、この小さなしま宇宙から世界へと発信出来る数少ない音楽家/ウチナーミュージシャンの一人だと強く感じられるCDアルバムである。
