昨今盛り上がる日本のレゲエシーンにおいてそのブームの中心を担ってきたのはレゲエDeejay(MC)によって歌われるスタイルのダンスホールレゲエが主体でした。しかし元々レゲエにはいろんな形のバリエーションがあり、その中で世界的に根強い人気を誇っているものにスウィートレゲエがあります。そして日本においても良質なダンスホールレゲエが数多く生産されてきているにもかかわらずその多くは比較的日陰の存在に過ぎません。しかしスウィートレゲエはダンスホールレゲエ以上に聴きやすく、さらに多くの人に聞いてもらえる可能性を秘めています。そこでこの企画は三木道三によるメガヒットチューン「Lifetime Respect」とそのアンサーソング「Lifetime Respect～女編～」のヒットをきっかけとしてこのスウィートレゲエに再び焦点をあてよう、という趣旨の下、企画するものです。
