EIKEN Road Show

[Machine Translation] This is the first album by EIKEN, a band of talented musicians who arrange music for both Western and Japanese films. The first track, "The Bouncer", is a song by the famous Japanese film director, Akira Kurosawa. Norihiko Kawakubo (piano, keyboard harmonica), Hiroshi Kanno (alto saxophone, chromatic harmonica), Tomohiko Egami (wood bass, electric bass), and Koji Ebisawa (drums) are all active as musicians in various fields, but the four members of EIKEN only began performing together in August 2012. EIKEN performs live mainly in Tokyo and Kanagawa.

メンバー一人一人が実力派ミュージシャンが集まり 洋画、邦画問わず映画音楽をアレンジするバンドEIKENの1stアルバム EIKEN初のこのアルバムは日本を代表する映画監督「黒澤明」シリーズや誰でもが一度は耳にしたことのある「007のテーマ」等映画好きな人からそうでない人でも楽しめる作品となっている。 1曲目「用心棒」は映画を見たことのある人は映像を想像しながら聴いてもらえると目の前に侍の決闘シーンや足音、緊迫感が伝わるアレンジに仕上がっている 6曲目の「MelodyFair」はLiveでも人気の曲で思わず吹き出してしまいそうになる様なアレンジになっていて、まずこの2曲を聴いてもらえばEIKENの幅広さが体感できる。川久保典彦(ピアノ、鍵盤ハーモニカ) 菅野浩(アルトサックス、クロマチックハーモニカ) 江上友彦(ウッドベース、エレキベース) 海老澤幸二(ドラムス)各々がミュージシャンとして多方面で活躍しているがEIKENとしてこの4人で活動が始まったのは2012年8月からである EIKENは東京、神奈川を中心にLive活動を行っている。
