元ザ・コブラツイスターズの川畑アキラと相馬圭二、そして現ポカスカジャンのタマ伸也を輩出した伝説のバンド!!『THE TWISTARS』の過去音源が連続リリースされることになりました。その第一弾シングル『正調ワッショイ節/氷鏡の空』『THE TWISTARS』～ザ・ツイスターズ～(活動期間1992年～1997年)川畑アキラ(Vo.三線)玉井伸也(Vo.AG.)相馬圭二(Cho.G.)北林裕章(B.)三好貴宏(Ds.)1992年結成。玉井伸也は1996年脱退後、タマ伸也としてワハハ本舗所属コミックバンド『ポカスカジャン』に加入。川畑アキラ(Vo.三線)と相馬圭二(Cho.G.)は1999年『ザ・コブラツイスターズ』としてメジャーデビュー。そして十数年が過ぎた2008年3月13日、『ザ・コブラツイス ターズ』解散に伴い12年ぶりに結集して一夜限りの復活LIVEを 行った。彼らの一番の特徴は『和』。日本、ないしはアジアを見据えた旋律をロックレベルで昇華した楽曲の中にこそ彼らの個性がある。ネブタのリズムに沖縄民謡、更にはアジアンテイストなメロディを、ロック編成のバンドサウンドで表現した時に、真のオリジナリティを獲得せんとする力強さと、怒濤のお祭りソングを生み出した。そしてもう一つの特徴が津軽出身の玉井伸也と、与論出身の川畑アキラによるツインボーカル。当時のステージ上では常に北と南のぶつかり合いが繰り広げられ共演していたミュージシャンたちをも魅了した。またその歌詞は今から12年以上前に作られているにも関わらず、今この時代にこそ相応しいメッセージを放っている。日本人として、アジア人として、国際人として、そして個人としてどこ までも突き抜けんとする意思表示と、時に内省的な言葉の数々は時間の流れに色褪せることない、心ある言葉として今もしっかりと鳴り響いたままである。三線とハードなギターが絡み合うキラーチューン『正調ワッショイ節』と、心に沁み入る名曲『氷鏡の空』。渾身の2曲を是非!!
