I'd like to preface my review with the fact that I don't usually buy singles, especially extra-expensive ones like this limited edition release. I had to make an exception for a collaboration between two of my favorite Japanese forms of entertainment -- Gackt and Final Fantasy. The package itself is exceptional as far as singles go. The case is in a traditional DVD package, rendering it much safer and less likely to be cracked or marred liked regular CD cases. The single itself is a fun, fast rock song with all the interesting proverbial bells and whistles that make Gackt distinctive from other rock musicians. The lyrics are well-tailored to "FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus" as much as they reflect the world-weary yet passionate determination of typical of the Moon Project. The C/W "Longing" is what keeps this form being a 5/5. I love most of the song, but the horror movie-esque interlude ruins it for me. The DVD makes the whole thing worth-while. Along with the Redemption PV (definitely one of Gackt's better PVs), it contains the extra long DoC trailer previously only seen at Jump Festa '05 and Gackt's Tokyo Dome Final. All in all, a must-have for fans of both Gackt and FFVII.

Gackt since his last album Diabolos has decide to return has its first loves, while doing more rock songs with a key of pop one. The result? An almost total reussite for this single, that puts in forms and that remains for us enough quickly so it is catchy. If you are Gackt's fans and than you want a return to the source you will not be disapointed.

When I purchased this item I was not expecting to music videos for FF7:DOC to be so good. but when i saw the video it ROCKED. This is a must have item.

I absolutely LOVE this single! It reminds me a little of Noesis, but with an extra kick to it. Featured as the Dirge of Cerberus opening theme song, the lyrics fit right into the games main theme. The limited edition also comes with a DVD featuring the PV for REDEMPTION and a special preview for Dirge of Cerberus to the music of the single as well. LONGING, the Dirge of Cerberus ending theme was a tiny bit lacking, and the screaming girls part really threw me off, but I still loved the tune. I highly recommend this for a long-time listener, or as a first-time listener!

This is really just Wow. The song is so good that I ha to rehear it at least 10 times or so, bevor hearing any other. And the PV is such incredible *.* It brings me to want to play the final fantasy game. But I am afraid, I have to watit till it is released in germany ~.~ For all those who like especially the songs of Gackt with a little more "power" this song is a really must have.

As a fan of both Final Fantasy VII and Gackt, this is a great moment of worlds colliding. "Redemption" is a good Gackt rock song, comparable to "Mind Forest," "Farewell," or "Asrun Dream." The other song, "Longing," has a vampire-like, creepy feeling to it, appropriate for a character such as Vincent Valentine. The DVD has two versions of "Redemption": One promoting the video game, and one with Gackt and his band jamming in Final Fantasy-like clothes. I hoped Gackt would be dressed as Vincent, but he has an equally cool costume. All in all, a good buy for a song that would fit in beautifully on "Diabolos."

Redemption is by far one of the most unique game music you'll find in the role-playing genre. While deviating from the norm of bubblegum pop, Redemption manages to convey the despair that you gamers out there will feel while playing the game. It is a must-have for any Dirge of Cerberus die-hard fan. If you get the limited edition, it comes with a cool music video together with an action-packed game trailer.

Gackt's contribution to the Final Fantasy World is a plesent surprise. Gackt Fans may have mixed feelings about this single, but Final Fantasy Fans rejoice. This great Hard-Rock theme song adds to the whole experience. The DVD contains the Gackt Music Video plus the Final Fantasy VII - Dirge of Cerberus version. I personally loved the Dirge of Cerberus version, but be warned. There are spoilers in that version. Overall, excellent single.

This single's title track, REDEMPTION, is a truly great song! It is so great that Gackt is returning to a rock sound! The B-side, Longing, in my opinion, is far better than the title track. The DVD extras on this dvd are very cool as well, though, at 1950yen not exactly worth it. I feel that at this price there should at least be one more new song.

i liked his old cds better cause the were not so soft but on rainy days ore wenn im not in the best mood his voise is always the best to cheer me up

Gackt + Final Fantasy = ...an okay-ish song. Combine Black Stone and Noesis and throw in a bit of Engrish and you get this song. However, thats not to say it's bad; I quite enjoy this song and I think it fits Dirge of Cerberus well. The videos contained on the DVD are also rather impressive and show off the costumes used in-game well. For the die-hard Gackt fan only.

REDEMPTION was released to prove that Gackt can still make great songs. It's one of his coolest songs ever. Heavy Rock song + Gackt fascinating vocals = PERFECTION! LONGING, while sounding a little like some songs from his DIABOLOS album, is a really good song too!!! Plus they are part of "Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII" soundtrack. It is a really cool game, I've finished it some days ago and I must admit: the ending stage and the ending CG wouldn't be the same without REDEMPTION and LONGING!!! Plus, I really recommend this Limited Edition of the single, the REDEMPTION music video is also one os his best!!! And the DOCFFVII version of the music video is great but contains some spoilers about the game, so if you want to play it, don't watch this video yet! Well, to put it simple, another perfect release from Mr. Perfect: Gackt!!! You should get your copy as soon as possible, since this is the Limited Edition. I already have mine, what are you waiting for?
