Description
The only album by pianist Toshiko Akiyoshi's regular band in Japan, comprised of Yoshio Suzuki (bass), and Motohiko Hino (drums) who passed away in 1999. Akiyoshi has based most of her professional career in the U.S. but whenever she visited Japan, the three got together to do wonderful gigs. In addiotion to containing the trio's best performance, this album is also important because it features Hino's awsome, thrilling performances before he came down with the illness that eventually took his life. Recorded at Blue Note Tokyo in October, 1997. That night's performance has become one of the most talked about gigs in Japan's jazz history.
