[Machine Translation] Progressive black metal band formed in 1991 in Bergen, Norway. The two core members, Ivar and Grutle, were 13 and 17 years old respectively. Since then, the band has undergone numerous member changes, and their musical style has varied. In the beginning, their music was book metal inspired by bands such as Venom, but they have gradually shifted their style towards progressive rock, and recently they have been receiving high acclaim for their music, which is reminiscent of Pink Floyd. Most of their lyrics are based on ancient Scandinavian mythology. The band has toured North America with the Swedish progressive death metal band Opeth, and continues to perform internationally.
