On the One is a live jazz-funk jam unit featuring drummer John Steten and saxophonist Jose Molloy, both members of Karl Denson's Tiny Universes, one of the biggest names in the US jam band scene. The quartet, which includes a bassist and a guitarist in their live performances, is gaining recognition on the local jam scene, and won the 2007 San Diego Music Award for Best Jazz Album. The sound of the quartet is reminiscent of the groovy jam sound of Sam Kininger's days at Soulive. The sharp alto and powerful drums pull the performance along, and the edgy guitar sound adds to the party funk!
