As of June 22, 2023 we have added DHL as a possible shipping method for VAT prepayment. From now on, you can choose to pay VAT in advance for following shipping methods: FedEx, EMS, Registered Airmail, Airmail and DHL.
VAT amount based on each country's VAT rate is displayed in the order flow and is paid at the time of purchase at CDJapan.
For orders for which VAT payment upon purchase is applicable, VAT payment upon receipt of goods is no longer required, which also reduces delivery time.
In that case, payment of the customs processing fee that was charged by the shipping company along with the VAT upon receipt of the goods is also no longer necessary.
VAT prepayment with DHL does not apply to orders placed before June 22nd. However, if you edit an order that has not yet shipped after June 22nd, it will be recalculated under the new program and the VAT payment at purchase will apply.
This introduction of VAT prepayment does not reflect the reduced tax rate for each product as determined by each country. We plan to support the reduced tax rate for each product in the next update. (Scheduled to be available by the end of this year) If you purchase goods that are subject to reduced tax rates, please select "VAT Payment upon Receipt of Goods" in the order flow.
