TRUTH RISING

[Machine Translation] This is the eighth full-length album by Head, a veteran heavy rock band representing the West Coast. Since their debut in 1997, Head has consistently infused punk rock attitude into their metal sound, sometimes incorporating funk, reggae, jazz, and other influences in their pursuit of new creation and excitement. The band is often compared to Rage Against the Machine and System of a Down because of the similarities in their music and the fact that Jared, the core vocalist, is a second generation Brazilian immigrant and hails from California. Jared's unique singing style is the heart of the band, and like the previous bands, it has left a strong message. With their last album, Head recorded their best sales ever, and now they are back with their newest album. The eighth track, "Stand Up," features Lajon Witherspoon, vocalist for the band's close friend Sevendust. Although the album has 22 tracks, it is actually 14 tracks, each lasting about an hour, and the remaining 8 tracks are intros. Each intro has its own meaning and title.

西海岸を代表する、もはやヴェテランの域に達するへヴィ・ロック・バンド、ヘッドの8枚目となるフル・アルバム。ヘッドは97年のデビュー作から一貫してパンク・ロック・アティテュードをメタル・サウンドにぶち込み、時にファンク、レゲエ、ジャズ等を取り入れ、新たな創造とエキサイトメントを追求してきた。中心メンバーであるヴォーカルのジャレッドがブラジル移民2世である事やカリフォルニア出身、そしてその音楽性の共通点からレイジ・アゲインスト・ザ・マシーンやシステム・オブ・ア・ダウンと並び称されることが多い。ジャレッドの独特の唱法はこのバンドの肝であり、前出のバンド同様に強烈なメッセージを残してきた。そんなヘッドが前作で実質過去最高のセールスを記録、満を持して最新作を作り上げた。今作はこれまでのヘッドの作品で最もへヴィな内容かつ、メロディアス&ドラマティックなアルバムとなった。8曲目の"Stand Up"では盟友セヴンダストのヴォーカルLajon Witherspoonが参加。尚、このアルバムは曲数が22曲となっているが、実質は約1時間の14曲入りで、残り8曲はイントロ。イントロにも意味があり、タイトルがそれぞれ付いている。
