Hotel Royal

A live-action film based on the novel winning Naoki Prize "Hotel Royal" comes out on DVD. Directed by Masaharu Take of "The Naked Director (Zenra Kantoku)." Starring Haru and Kenichi Matsuyama. Comes with a bonus disc featuring making-of and event footage collection plus a booklet. Plot: Set at a love hotel on a hill overlooking Kushiro Marsh, Hokkaido. Masayo fails to pass the entrance exam for art college and reluctantly decides to help out at the hotel, her family's business. In place of his father, Daikichi, who was unworthy of the job, Masayo takes over the hotel as if she had given up halfway, and a variety of people visit the hotel in search of the "unusual." In the midst of all this, a suicide attempt occurs in one of the rooms, and the hotel becomes a target for the media. And then Daikichi falls ill, and Masayo faces the hotel and her own life for the first time...
