スローダウン・レコーズによるメルツバウ・アーカイブ・シリーズは第7弾に突入。このシリーズでは1996年から1998年にかけての発掘音源がリリースされる。本作『Tauro-O1』には1998年のアルバム『Tauromachine』(Relapse/ Release)のアウトテイクと同時期の未使用音源を収録 (タイトルの'O'はOuttakesの'O')。アルバムに収録された楽曲のより長いバージョンを含んでおり、テクノやドラムンベースなどの影響により低音を強調したり、フィルターを多用した音作りが特徴となっている。
