Gekko Soiree [Limited Edition]

First ever concert DVD from ALI PROJECT!? AAHHH!! I knew Ali Project from their darkwave releases. I really like it. Little did I know what kind of DVD this was, other than it being Ali's first live release. If you're expecting darkwave music like I was, you're in for a surprise. This is a completely classical performance in front of a sitting audience who politely clap after every few songs. Classical? Yes. The female singer singing with a complete orchestra behind her. No guitars, no drums, no bass. A keyboard here and there, violins, and a piano, but don't expect a real "band" performance. This is about as classical as it can get. What's even more of a surprise is that I actually like it, too. And this comes from someone who usually dabbles in the realms of metal, ala Dir en grey, Deathgaze, The GazettE, UnsraW, Versailles, and so forth. This limited edition has an extra disc and comes with a booklet, plus a red enveloppe with an Ali Project "medal" kind of pendant for me to wear. Very cool.
