this is a very long overdue deluxe edition since this was one of the many best hard rock records to come out in 1974, i love the rough mixes and the remastering is very good, i love the packaging and all the information that comes with this and of coarse the japan edition is far superior to the us or uk editions, its interesting to hear the different takes on disc 2 and the rough mixes once again, i am very pleased these 2 classics where done, they sound as great today as when i first heard them over 35 years ago in school..........

Excellent job done on this new remastering. This over 40 years old music seems alive and kicking right now. This is an absolute 'Must Have' release. So there's only one advise : buy it and listen !
I have been playing my new deluxe remasters over the last few days and I would like to comment on my findings. Firstly the packaging and the bonus tracks are just great and for fans really worth the purchase. Now for the sound. I have used my US remaster as my reference here. For one thing I have noticed that on this disc and others remastered by Jon Astley, he does have a preference for clean and detailed upper and mid sounds and for this reason there is a lot of clarity in the high end and the voices are just fantastic and are clear and well balanced with a lot of studio ambiance. Now for the bad news. The bottom end has been made way too clinical and the US version has more punch in the bass and drums. Overall the new version is well worth the purchase but I think when I want to hear "Can't Get Enough" and "Bad Company" to rock on, I will head for the US master.
