Original Video Animation Gunbuster 2 (Aim for the Top / Top wo Nerae! 2) Original Soundtrack

Prolific anime/game music composer, Kohei Tanaka, has created something really special here. I have to admit, I'm not big on anime or videogame music but when it's done well, it's done fantastically. This is one such example of that. If you're a fan of Diebuster (aka Top wo Nerae! 2 aka Gunbuster 2) then I'd say you should definitely buy this, but then I probably don't need to tell you that. Even if you haven't so much have heard of this excellent series, I still really recommend this OST - and also wonder why you're on this page to begin with. You'll find superb orchestral music that can be beautiful and tender or furious and menacing. To use an example that I think most people can appreciate (rather than alluding to classical composers which most people will only know in name alone, if at all) I suppose you could compare it to the music in Disney's Fantasia for its ability to conjure up image in your imagination as you listen to it. This is the only anime or videogame OST I own other than the Persona 4 one. I bought the P4 one because I love the game and the music is quite fun but this stands head and shoulders above the P4 one. This can stand proudly next to "proper" classical music whereas the P4 music doesn't bear comparison to the best, even average, pop and rock music.
