[サムシンエルス 創立30周年記念リイシュー] ブルーノートの姉妹レーベルとして1988年東京で設立した日本発のジャズ・レーベル、サムシンエルスの創立30周年記念企画。新人の発掘と育成をポリシーの一つとし、ラルフ・ピーターソン、ゴンサロ・ルバルカバ、大西順子などを輩出したレーベルの代表作20タイトルをリイシュー。 ギル・エヴァンス・オーケストラ、プーレン=アダムス双頭コンボでも活躍したジョージ・アダムスは、当時Mt. Fujiジャズ・フェスティヴァルの人気者だった。本作では豪快でフリーキーなテナー奏者だったアダムスが、「明日に架ける橋」「この素晴らしき世界」といったナンバーを深い音色でたっぷりと歌い上げる。
