松嶋菜々子 主演。命を救い続けた"無償の愛"と、絆を信じ続けた"家族愛"の物語。TBS開局60周年特別企画 2夜連続スペシャルドラマとして、2015年8月1日・2日 2夜連続放送。豪華キャストで描く、激動の時代に信念をもって生きたひとりの女性の家族愛の物語。――今から70年前、自らの信念で戦時召集状、いわゆる「赤紙」を受け取り、戦地に赴く女性たちがいた。第二次世界大戦中、「従軍看護婦」として3万5千人余りの女性が戦地に赴き、1,120人が殉職。彼女たちは戦地で命を救う仕事に崇高な理想を持って男たちと肩を並べて働き、今や当たり前の"女性の社会進出"の先駆け的存在でもあった。しかし敗戦の色が濃くなるにつれ、大きく狂わされる運命。戦後も続く過酷な試練。逆境にあっても博愛の精神を持ち続け、生きることの尊さを信じ続けた女性たち──。戦争で家族と別れ人生を翻弄されながらも「博愛」の精神、そして家族への愛を貫いた天野希代という1人の女性の生き様を、満州事変から第二次世界大戦、朝鮮戦争の時代にわたって描く。
