映画史上最高のダンシング・ペアとされるフレッド・アステアとジンジャー・ロジャースが共演し1935年に公開されたミュージカル映画をもとに、2011年にイギリス国内ツアーで初演されて以降、ウエスト・エンドでも上演される等、世界中で多くの人から人気を集めているミュージカルを、宝塚歌劇団が日本初上演。音楽は「ホワイト・クリスマス」や「ゴッド・ブレス・アメリカ」の作詞・作曲で有名なアーヴィング・バーリンが手掛けており、まさにハリウッドの黄金時代の魅力が詰まった作品。 新作レビューに出演するため、ロンドンにやって来たジェリー・トラバースは、同じホテルに滞在していたデイル・トレモントに一目惚れ。デイルもまた、陽気でチャーミングなジェリーに心を奪われていくが、ひょんなことからジェリーが友人マッジの夫レス・ハードウィックであると誤解してしまう。そうとは知らないジェリーは、何とかデイルを振り向かせようと躍起になるが、デイルの誤解は新たな誤解を生み、やがて事態は周囲を巻き込んだ大騒動に・・・。果たして、ジェリーとデイルの恋の行方は――?
