Boredoms Live At Sunflancisco [CD+DVD]

While the music is similar to that on Super Roots 9 except without the choir, what makes this DVD great is being able to see the Boredoms in action and how they carry off their trademark triple drumkit blast. The video starts off a bit blurry as Eye does some solo electronics but when all 4 members get into it, the vision clears up and they play a dynamic and fun set. However the music does get quite repetitious towards the end. The two extra tracks (audio only) are quite good too, however, this package is really intended perhaps for the more diehard fan. If you're new to the Boredoms, best spend your money in 'Vision Creation Newsun' or 'Super Are'. Or even their early 1990s eclectic thrashy noise classic 'Pop Tatari' and go from there. Happy travels! I think through some possible computer trickery, some strange visual things happen throughout this DVD which punctuate the music greatly. At first I thought my copy was faulty but after repeated viewings I've realised it's usual and that of course the Boredoms would never release just a straight DVD is them playing live .
