[Machine Translation] Dani Gurgel is a vocalist who has led Novos Compositores, a music movement centered in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In parallel with her activities as a member of the jazz band Dani & Deborah Gurgel Quartet ( DDG4 ) with her mother, Deborah Gurgel, and others, she has united young artists to create a new music scene. This is her first original solo album in 10 years since "Nosso" released in 2008. The album is produced by Thiago Havelo, her husband and a master drummer in DDG4, and features the vocals of Joe Locke, a vibraphonist who is considered one of the best in the contemporary jazz scene, on M-1 "Cade a Rita? Ingrid Jensen, a popular female trumpet player from Maria Schneider's big band, plays on M-4 "VOOU". This album is a departure from DDG4's sound, and is a fusion and smooth, Dani's style of samba jazz.

ブラジルはサンパウロを中心とする音楽ムーヴメント、ノヴォス・コンポジトーレス(Novos Compositores)を牽引してきたヴォーカリスト、ダニ・グルジェル。実母、デボラ・グルジェルらと組むジャズ・バンド、ダニ&デボラ・グルジェル・クアルテート(DDG4)としての活動と並行し、若手アーティストたちを束ね、新たな音楽シーンの形成に努めてきた。本作は2008年に発表した『Nosso』以来10年ぶりとなるオリジナル・ソロ・アルバム。プロデューサーには夫でありDDG4ではドラマーとして手腕を奮う名匠、チアゴ・ハベーロを迎え、M-1「CADE A RITA?」には現代ジャズ・シーンにおいて最高峰ともいわれるヴィブラフォン奏者のジョー・ロック、M-4「VOOU」にはマリア・シュナイダーのビッグバンド出身の人気女流トランペット奏者のイングリッド・ジェンセンが参加。これまでのDDG4サウンドとは一線を画す、フュージョニックでスムースな、ダニ流サンバ・ジャズの形を示した会心の一作に!
