Layton Kyouju to Fushigi na Machi Original Soundtrack

Being a fan of the Professor Layton Series, I decided that I just had to have this soundtrack. I was already intrested in the music of Professor Layton and the Curious Village and I kept searching the web for a CD. I finally found one here at CD Japan. The CD came to my house in no time at all. What about the music you ask? The music uses the accordian most of all. Most of the music is synthisized but that is not neccessarly a bad thing. Tracks like "Professor Layton's Theme" and "The Curious Village" gave the soundtrack a charming French feel. Other tracks like "The Viel of the Night" and "The Girl Departs" made me feel more relaxed. I also enjoyed the tracks "The Village Awakens" and "End Theme." While your presented with 19 standerd tracks. You also get 4 live tracks and 3 high quality ones bring the total to 26. The live tracks I think are the best in the whole album. "Professor Layton's Theme (Live)" and "The Looming Tower Live" may be the best of the bunch with thier added violin and flute sections. The high quality tracks ae almost identical to their regular counterparts, just with a slightly crisper sound. The high quaitly tracks include "About Town," "Reinhold Manor," and "The Village Awakens" The album also includes a small booklet with original artwork. A nice touch if you ask me. All in all a great soundtrack that a true Layton fan should not be without. Highly recomendend.

A lovely soundtrack perfectly suited to a riddle-game like Professor Layton. French style accordians and composed music accompany this OST. If you're considering buying this then I assume you've played the game already, and have heard the brilliant music. If not then listen to some samples, the OST was made as background atmospheric music for a game set in a British village. It does the job very nicely. As for the CD, well it is very pretty and well displayed. It comes with a booklet with many illustrations which acts as the front of the CD as well. Impressively, it is a booklet of illustrations only with 4 pages, as you get a seperate folded sheet of paper with the track listings in it (written in Japanese). This is a very collectable item, pretty and with great music.
