And now, a large amount of bad "E.T." inventory is buried in the New Mexico desert.... Zak Penn, the well-known screenwriter of "The Avengers," set out to verify this urban legend. With camera in hand, he follows those who are trying to excavate the ATARI graveyard, and interviews the people who were involved in the development of ATARI games in the 1980s, as well as the game creators. What awaits him are the many strange fates of the people involved with ATARI, including the creators who were called genius programmers but left the game industry because they felt responsible for the failure of "E.T."... What was ATARI, the fastest growing American venture company in history, and how did it collapse? And will a legendary game be unearthed? This documentary film is full of love for games and delves (seriously) into the trajectory of ATARI, which became a social phenomenon in the early days of video games but suddenly disappeared, by unearthing the worst game ever made, "E.T.". The film was planned and supervised by Fumio Kurokawa, the leader of Kurokawa Juku, a leading journalist and producer in the video game industry, and includes rare bonus footage unique to the Japanese edition, such as an exclusive interview with Nolan Bushnell in LA, interviews with producers and game stores. The Japanese version of the film will also include a special bonus video.
