[Machine Translation] Parallax", a piano trio unit led by Hitomi Nishiyama, a rare pianist/composer, has finally released its second album! Hitomi Nishiyama has been attracting attention around the world, winning the Grand Prix at the Yokohama Jazz Promenade, an invitation to the Stockholm Jazz Festival, and a 3rd place at the International Songwriting Competition (ISC), the largest songwriting competition in the U.S. She is now one of the leading pianists and composers in the Japanese jazz scene. /Hitomi Nishiyama is one of the best young bass players in Japan. The long-awaited second album by the piano trio unit "Parallax" is the result of a chance encounter after a gap of six years between the three members: Takuya Sakazaki, one of the best young bassists, and Yukihiro Shimizu, who is also active as a drummer in the Indigo Jam Unit. If the trio with Yasuhiko "Hachi" Sato and Kazumi Ikenaga is a "quiet" trio that emphasizes ensemble, Parallax is a "dynamic" trio with aggressive tricks scattered throughout, and the textures of their thrilling playing and gimmicks draw you in with a shocking sound. The trio's 10 songs include three originals by Hitomi Nishiyama and guitarist Takayoshi Baba, as well as "Girl from Ipanema" and "C Jam Blues," a standard number that Parallax has interpreted in its own unique way.
