Flowers [Limited Release]

[Machine Translation] A solo project [.que] (queue) by Nao Kakimoto, who has attracted attention not only from the electronica and ambient scene, but also from various other scenes such as rock and pop. This is his first analog work, a concept EP themed on spring and flowers. It includes the famous song "Farewell" that defined his talent as a songwriter. Teardrops" is a new song that is [.que]'s answer to the contemporary J-pop scene. The instrumental tracks "Bloomy" and "Grow Yellow," which have been popular for some time, were recorded in the studio with a band, giving them an even more energetic feel. The other instrumental tracks are composed mainly of his signature electronica, ambient, and piano, and the delicate and skillful sound production gives the songs a fresh and nostalgic feel. Guest musicians include Machi Iwata (aquarifa / Cuon) on vocals, Hiroshi Matsufuji (Rhycol. / Pefko) on bass, Shota Mizuguchi (LOOPPOOL / December, etc.) on drums, and Moe Aoyagi (NJBP) on violin. The recording engineer was Hiroshi Ikeda of hmc, and the mastering was done by IEDA of One Day Diary, known for their releases on the Rallye Label, which has been involved with many of [.que]'s previous works. The artwork is by internationally acclaimed Instagram photographer Mao Kokubun. Both the music and artwork have been polished to perfection.

エレクトロニカ、アンビエントシーンのみならず、ロック、ポップなど様々なシーンから注目を集めるカキモトナオによるソロプロジェクト[.que](キュー)。初のアナログ作品として届けられる今作は春と花をテーマにしたコンセプトEP。彼のソングライターとしての才能を決定づけた名曲「Farewell」を収録。また新曲として収録される「Teardrops」は現代のJポップシーンへの[.que]なりの回答として珠玉の1曲に仕上がっている。兼ねてより人気の高いインストゥルメンタル楽曲「Bloomy」「Grow Yellow」はバンド編成でスタジオレコーディングされさらに勢いを感じられる楽曲に。他のインストゥルメンタル楽曲では彼の持ち前のエレクトロニカ、アンビエント、ピアノを中心に構成されており、繊細で巧みなサウンド・プロダクションは爽やかさの中にもノスタルジックさを感じさせる楽曲に仕上がっている。ゲストミュージシャンとしてヴォーカルに岩田真知 (aquarifa / Cuon)、ベースに松藤裕志 (Rhycol. / Pefko)、ドラムに水口彰太 (LOOPPOOL / December 他)、ヴァイオリンに青柳萌 (NJBP) を迎え制作。レコーディングエンジニアにはhmcの池田洋、マスタリングにはこれまでの[.que]の作品に多数関わってきたRallye Labelからのリリースで知られるOne Day DiaryのIEDAが担当。アートワークにはinstagramにて世界的にも高い評価を得るフォトグラファー国分真央が担当している。音楽、アートワーク共に磨きぬかれた渾身の作品がここに完成。
