Description
Blu-ray release of a samurai film "Zakurozaka no Adauchi (Snow On The Blades)" based on a novel written by Jiro Asada. Stars Kiichi Nakai and Hiroshi Abe. Plot: Kingo Shimura serves his lord Naosuke Ii, but Ii is killed by ronins from the Mito Domain in front of Kingo. Kingo is not allowed to kill himself and is ordered to exact revenge. Kingo searches for enemies for 13 years and finally finds the last one, Jubee. However, on the day Kingo finds Jubee, new government ironically enacts a revenge ban. On the one hand, the two cross swords at Zakurozaka hill...

浅田文学の最高峰、待望の完全映画化! 中井貴一×阿部寛が激突! 武士の矜持、妻への感謝と愛――日本人の真心がここにある! 「今、日本人としてどう生きるか」を見事に提示する作品が、ブルーレイ&DVDで発売! ――安政七年(1860年)。彦根藩士・志村金吾(中井貴一)は、時の大老・井伊直弼(中村吉右衛門)に仕えていたが、雪の降る桜田門外で水戸浪士たちに襲われ、眼の前で主君を失ってしまう。両親は自害し、妻セツ(広末涼子)は酌婦に身をやつすも、金吾は切腹も許されず、仇を追い続ける。時は移り、彦根藩も既に無い13年後の明治六年(1873年)、ついに金吾は最後の仇・佐橋十兵衛(阿部寛)を探し出す。しかし皮肉にもその日、新政府は「仇討禁止令」を布告していた。「直吉」と名を変えた十兵衛が引く人力車は、金吾を乗せ柘榴坂に向かう。そして運命の二人は13年の時を超え、ついに刀を交えるが・・・。聴覚障害者対応日本語字幕付(ON・OFF可能)。
