「化物語」に続く西尾維新アニメプロジェクト第2弾! 2010年1月よりフジテレビ・毎日放送・BSフジにて放送のTVアニメ「刀語」のDVD、第8巻。 ――刀を使わない剣術・虚刀流の七代目当主・鑢七花と、その姉・鑢七実は、地図にも載らない無人島・不承島で平和に暮らしていた。そこへ、奇策士を自称する"とがめ"という女性が訪ねてくる。幕府の役職者であるという彼女の目的は、伝説の刀鍛冶・四季崎記紀が、その人生をかけて完成させたという十二本の完成形変体刀の蒐集を虚刀流の当主に依頼する事だった。長い間来訪者の無かった島への突然の来客と意外な依頼に戸惑う七花と七実。そして、そんな彼らに暗殺専門の忍者集団「真庭忍軍」十二頭領の一人・真庭蝙蝠の影が忍び寄る・・・。 第8話を収録。
