RahXephon initially appears to get off to a slow start. However, viewers will be rewarded as the personalities of each character are intricately etched out. Also, there will be many questions left unanswered which will no doubt propel viewers to continue watching if only to unravel their intriguing mystery. Towards the middle of the series when the pace begins to pick up, viewers will be grateful for having the oppurtunity to learn about each and every quirk of the many characters and to digest the rather complex plotline. RahXephon is a series meant for a more mature audience, characters die and closure and peace are attained only at a devastating price. BONES studio has hit the proverbial gold mine with this series by Yutaka Izubuchi. This is an anime meant for repeat watching to reap the full benefits of its complexities and the exquisiteness of the artwork throughout.

Description
The sci-fi robot anime marks the directorial debut of Yutaka Izubuchi, the mecha designer of "Gundam: Gyakushu no Char (Char's Counter Attack)." While the show is sci-fi mecha oriented, the tone is scenic, gorgeous and mysterious. It centers around a highschool student named Ayato Kamina who witnesses a city under attack from a strange Air Squadron. Wandering through the devastated city, he arrives at an underground shrine of some kind, as if guided by some unknown force, and he finds a gigantic egg. The egg hatches, and out comes a large Rahxephon! A leaflet included.
