The lyrics were written by Yumie Morita based on an original idea by film director Seiji Nomura, the music was composed by Masaaki Mori of Billy Bang Bang's "I'm in Love with You Again," and arranged by Tomoji Tokawa, who has arranged many hit songs including Chage & Asuka.

高知県南西部に数本自生する幻の山桜をテーマに、地元の盛り上がりを背景に実力派シンガーが歌う雄大なバラード作品。今回映画監督 野村精司の原案により、森田由美恵が作詞、作曲はビリーバンバン「また君に恋してる」の森正明、編曲にはチャゲ&飛鳥はじめ数々のヒット作品をアレンジした十川ともじを起用。
