Black Masquerade [w/ CD, Limited Edition]

i have been dying to see this show on film for 17 years now, back in 1996 i bought a 6 cd bootleg box called ritchie bows to germany and it contains 3 german shows from the autumn european stranger in us all tour and this show is one of the 3 in the box, NOW i just finished watching it live and to see it live on t.v is so great!!!! a few rainbow gems that i wished where thrown in include L.A CONNECTION, GATES OF BABYLON AND SENSATIVE TO LIGHT, instead we get a few great deep purple songs so i should not complain, anyway this sadly was rainbows last album and last ever tour as this line up only toured during autumn 95 through early winter 1997 before splitting up sadly and we will now never see rainbow again, BUT we can see rainbow here with this great release and i hope some from the dio era of the 70s do see the light of day at some point as joe lyn was a great singer but that was the weakest rainbow line up i felt, rainbow where on fire this night in 1995, ritchie you can clearly see by watching this was in a very good mood this night wich was not the norm for him in those days, rainbow rip through 5 songs from stranger in us all and then go right back to the dio area with the exception of 2 songs from the down to earth record with graham bonnet, rainbow where very tight and very strong and very well together doing this gig, this really is a perfect dvd for a rainbow fan of any era i strongly feel, doogie white really hits it perfect here and he even sounds a bit like joe lyn and a little like dio on all the tracks he does what was funny was not one song from the turner era was played on this tour, anyway this first edition printing in japan only also comes with a 2 cd set that is not included in the us copy or european copy, they did a great job cleaning up the few mistakes that where made live on this official cd/dvd release but THAT IS WHAT I LOVE ABOUT BOOTLEGS. anyway any rainbow fan WILL LOVE THIS DVD/CD SET
