岡村靖幸復活! オリジナルアルバムとしては、2004年9月に発売した「Me-imi」以来7年ぶり!! 自身初のセルフカヴァー企画! しかも、異なる選曲を収録したアルバム2枚、同時発売!! レコーディングスタイルは、曲毎に異なるスタイルで行われた。例えば、ライブでCDとは異なるアップトゥデイトなアレンジを施された楽曲を、さらに再構築したり・・・。ゼロから、新たにリ・アレンジされ、スタジオで緻密にレコーディングした作品。あるいは観客のボイスを効果音として、採用した作品、楽曲毎にその様々な意匠を凝らした作品は、フォーエヴァーな魅力を持った岡村靖幸の楽曲を、より普遍的に楽しめる内容になっている。そのほとんどは、本人の演奏 (ギター、ベース、キーボード、etc)に依るもの。タイトルの「エチケット」は、「マナー」とはひと味違う、思春期のある時期に出会う言葉であり、岡村靖幸自ら、強い意志を表現したもの。生きて行く中で、自らを律するという意味でもある。その明快さが、今回の作品を反映している。アートディレクターは、「me-imi」を始め、数々の岡村の作品を手掛けた、後智仁が担当。
