Verishuvi [Regular Edition]

Sakura Gakuin is my favorite idol group. I loved their first single and their album. When I saw the video for "Verishuvi" I loved this too. It combines folk music and rock for an exciting pop rock song! But then the B-Side "Sakura Hyaku Nin Isshu" comes on. It's a rap song, something I never expected Sakura Gakuin to do. All of their songs up to now were pop or rock songs. I have never liked rap at all, and even though I love the girls in this group, I do not like this song. The vocals are good, but the style of singing does not appeal to me at all. The choruses are much better than the verses since the choruses sound like traditional pop. But the record-scratching and hip-hop beats really ruin the song. This is NOT the type of song Sakura Gakuin should be recording. Universal are trying something new with Sakura Gakuin, I guess, and they are going to alienate fans such as myself. New fans and people who have never heard of Sakura Gakuin may like it, but this fan, who has been praising Sakura Gakuin as the next big thing in pop music for over a year now, does not. So I give "Verishuvi" 5 stars, but "Sakura Hyaku Nin Isshu" 0 stars. That comes to a 2 1/2 star average. I hope the next single has a much better B-Side than this.
