this is a very nice LONG LONG overdue box set as i do not belive there has ever been a proper rainbow box set officially released, my only complaint is the dvd that comes with this is the same chopped up donnington 1980 show that has been around forever, the 5 japan shm remastered cds sound awesome!!!!! i was shocked japan did not do there own issue of this as the box set and the booklet where all exported to japan from the uk BUT the cds are japan shm discs wich sound awesome!!! anyway with all the rainbow bootlegs i have this is just another rainbow box set to me BUT is the only official one i own next to the singles box set that came out in the uk over a year ago, you get great live stuff from the ronnie era, graham era and joe lyn era, also of coarse you get great rough mixes and studio outtakes as well, for me i wish this was a 5 cd box set of DIO era rainbow but i also loved the down to earth record in 79 as well as the first 2 rainbow albums with joe in 1981 and 82, if you are on old school rainbow fan like i have been for 36 years i am sure you will be happy with this even if you have many bootlegs like i do, also the color booklet is beautiful that comes with this
