あの日、原発内に残り戦い続けた50人の作業員たちを、世界は"Fukushima 50" (フクシマフィフティ)と呼んだ。2011年3月11日午後2時46分、東日本大震災発生。全世界が震撼した福島第一原発事故の関係者90人以上への取材をもとに綴られたジャーナリスト、門田隆将渾身のノンフィクション作品「死の淵を見た男 吉田昌郎と福島第一原発」 (角川文庫刊)原作の映画『Fukushima 50』 (2020年3月6日(金)全国公開)のオリジナル・サウンドトラック。スコアを担当するのは『レッドクリフ』 (ジョン・ウー監督)、『殺人の追憶』 (ボン・ジュノ監督)などの海外作品や、NHK大河ドラマ『義経』『葵・徳川三代』など、映画・テレビ・アニメ・舞台など幅広いジャンルで活躍する岩代太郎。今回が映画音楽初となる世界的ヴァイオリニスト五嶋龍や、日本を代表するチェリストの一人長谷川陽子といった豪華ソリストをフィーチャー。東京フィルハーモニー交響楽団による重厚なサウンドが、壮大なドラマに相応しい音楽を奏でる。
