ディアJ.C.～トリビュート・トゥ・ジョン・コルトレーン [SHM-CD] / オムニバス
2012年7月17日に没後45回目の命日を迎える、サックスの巨人ジョン・コルトレーンへのトリビュート曲を集めたコンピレーション。60～70年代にインパルスに吹き込まれた、当時のレーベル・メイトたちによるコルトレーンへのトリビュート曲を中心に構成。加えて、息子ラヴィ・コルトレーンによる父に捧げた演奏や、マイケル・ブレッカーによる名曲「セイ・イット」のカヴァーなど、盛り沢山の内容。さらにリード曲として、人気ジャズ・ヴォーカリスト、ホセ・ジェイムズがコルトレーンのオリジナル曲「イクイノックス」に自ら歌詞をつけてカヴァーしたヴァージョンを世界初CD化で収録予定。これは2006年に録音されていたものの、当時は限定500枚のアナログ盤でのみ流通されず、ファンの間で幻の名曲とされていたもの。 日本独自企画。
