Vidoll is one of my favorite bands and I've been following them for a long time. With the addition of new guitarists Shun and Giru, Vidoll has embarked on a new direction in their mini-album "Deathmate". While originally a bit let down, I think it's overall a much more cohesive sound than before, and if you're new to the band, it's a must buy. The lyrics and sound take on an overall more romantic flair with songs like "Elieza", "Shutdown" and "Kuroneko". Although Jui still does exhibit his characteristic spastic vocals and bizarre lyrics in "Chocoripeyes", a standout track of the album. The title track "Deathmate" has a great groove to it with electronic influences. The songwriting isn't quite amazing yet, but it's a great start for the new Vidoll.
