[ブルーノート・ザ・マスターワークス 第2期] 50年代初頭、カウント・ベイシー・オーケストラの一員としてデビュー。70年代には自身のオーケストラ、ラウド・マイノリティでも話題を集めたフランク・フォスターが68年に残したアルバム。6人編成ながら、入念な作編曲が施された響きはまさに "リトル・ビッグ・バンド"。タイトル曲における雄大なアンサンブルが快い。テナー・サックス奏者としての魅力が凝縮されたワン・ホーン・カルテットによるナンバーも必聴だ。国内初CD化。24bitリマスタリング。
