1968年ビートルズが設立したAPPLEレコードの強力アーティストのオリジナル・アルバムを、2010最新リマスタリング、デジスリーヴ仕様(ニュー・アートワーク)、ニュー・ボーナス・トラック付きでリリース! メリー・ホプキンのオリジナル・アルバム。メリーが本来目標としていた極上ブリティッシュ・フォーク・ソング・アルバム。1971年に発表されたこの作品は、当時の現代社会に高い関心を持っていたフォーク・ソングの支持者たちにその歌詞が注目された楽曲のコレクションである。この集団の代表者に、Ralph McTellやGallagher & Lyle、Tom PaxtonやCat StevensにHarvey Andrews、さらにはこのアルバムのタイトル・ソング"Earth Song"や"Ocean Song"を書いたがあまり知られていないLiz Thorsenが挙げられる。Maryは、伝説のプロデューサー兼彼女の夫になるはずであった男Tony Viscontiによってコーディネートされたこのアルバムに、彼女の美学を表現している。
