Maten - Hard Section -

this was a decent debut album by x ray in 1984, i remember i first bought this on lp in 1985 after hearing the second album, all these years later this band x ray i never forgot, they came out of that wave of japanese metal bands that started to pop up around 1983 like 44 magnum, marino,blizzard,earthshaker,action, sabrabells and many many others, at that time loudness and bow wow seemed to be the top metal bands from japan as loudness formed out of lazy in 1981 and bow wow where around since 1976, anyway i had a lot of fun buying these lps back in 84,85 and 86, i see some of these outfits still get together once in a while for a one off gig someplace in japan so that is nice to know, i still have all those records i bought nearly 30 years ago, i really liked that whole scene over there, anyway i felt the first two X RAY albums where the best, then in 1985 they started to add keyboards to much like a lot of the japanese metal bands at that time did and that weakened the sound, anyway its great to have this on cd in 2013 with 2 bonus tracks, great hearing this again, i hope they do the two flatbacker albums from 1985 and 86 flatbacker may have been my favorite band out of japan before they changed there name to EZO..... ps what ever happned to sniper????
