川村ゆきえ映画初出演。鬼才・園子温が、名曲「翳りゆく部屋」をもとに奏でる青春群像。 北二郎(深水元基)は「気球クラブ～うわの空～」というサークルに所属していた。そこには、本当に気球が好きな人、淋しさを紛らわすために入ってみた人、友達をや恋人を探しにきた人・・・さまざまな想いを抱いた若者たちがいた。――あれから5年。仲間のみどり(川村ゆきえ)と微妙な関係を続けている二郎のもとに一本の悲報が入る。リーダー・村上の事故、そして、死。そのことがきっかけで、バラバラになっていたメンバーが再び集まり、村上を偲んで大宴会が行われることになった。だが、彼らは気付いていた。これが最後の、一夜限りのバカ騒ぎだということに。そして、二郎は村上の恋人だった美津子(永作博美)の深いの想いを初めて知ることになる・・・。
