The trick-laden cinematography is by Gordon Willis, who has supported Allen's work since the late 1970s. Nominated for Best Cinematography and Best Costume Design at the 1983 Academy Awards. -Zelig, a Jew in 1920s New York City, has the uncanny ability to transform himself into a white, oriental, or black man depending on his environment. When he is confined to a mental institution and examined by psychiatrist Dr. Eudora Fletcher (Mia Farrow), Zelig becomes a "psychiatrist. Zelig becomes a media darling as "The Chameleon Man," but when he is made a spectacle and becomes famous, he is accused of bigamy and false medical treatment in the past, and disappears.
