福山雅治主演『ガリレオ』シリーズ、9年ぶりの完全新作スペシャルドラマ! 共演・新木優子、北村一輝でお送りする今作は、映画第3弾となる『沈黙のパレード』の事件の4年前にあったもう一つの事件を描く! いつも冷静沈着で論理的な湯川学の、今まで見たことのない姿に注目! ――帝都大学の准教授・湯川学(福山雅治)のもとを、医学部の新入生・古芝伸吾(村上虹郎)が訪ねてくる。湯川と伸吾は同じ高校の物理研究会の先輩・後輩という関係で、湯川は物理研究会のOBとして、高校生の伸吾に実験の指導もしていた。優秀な科学者だった伸吾の父のことも知る湯川は、伸吾が医学部に入学したことが意外だと話し、「君ほど優秀な人間なら、医療の分野でも人の役に立つ仕事ができるだろう」と伸吾の将来に期待を膨らませる。尊敬する湯川と出会えた喜びを姉の古芝秋穂(朝倉あき)に伝えようと、電話をする伸吾だが、その電話に出たのはなぜか警察の人間だった・・・。
