サイモン&ガーファンクルのデビュー作品は、CBSより1964年に発売。トム・ウィルソンのプロデュースによる全編アコースティックの今作は、エヴァリー・ブラザーズに触発された息のあったハーモニーからトラディショナルの数々、カバーに至るまで、二人を育んできた音楽的背景や歩んできた道を物語る内容となった。収録曲中の5曲のオリジナルからは、この若い二人が類稀な才能を有している事が雄弁に伝わってくる。後に大ヒットを記録する「サウンド・オブ・サイレンス」のアコースティック・ヴァージョンを収録。フォークと言う概念に収まらない進取性と伝統を兼ね備えた作品だが、正当に認められるには時間を要した。 2001 デジタルリマスター。解説: アート・ガーファンクル、バド・スコッパ。歌詞/対訳付き。
