Hopefully the next album will be better 3

In my opinion, this is thus far the weakest album by Dir en grey. Deg used to be one of the most creative and experiencing groups of Japanese music scene, doing songs with some truly unique, mesmerizing traits, but it couldn't be believed when hearing the dull metallic tones on this CD, with only a few highlights (e.g. "Namamekashiki Ansoku, Tamerai ni Hohoemi"). The tracklisting consist almost completely of songs that have very little or almost not at all of the melody part. Besides the album itself, one thing I wasn't happy with neither was the booklet: the lyrics are printed in such a tiny font and dark silvery colour that they're impossible to read without a magnifying glass and a light coming from just the right direction, and I can't believe that I'd be the only one having problems with the printout.
However, even though this album wasn't exactly a treat for me personally, I'm living in a hope of better tomorrow for Dir en grey. If they're following their concept of chancing with each album, I hope that this was only a misstep to the worse and that the next album would be gorgeous one, maybe merging together the new more metallic tune and beautiful melodies.

Hard rocking and mind blowing sounds! 5

Love the songs in the cd. My personal favourites would be Conceived Sorrow, Grief, The Deeper Vileness, Agitated Screams of Maggots, Clever Sleazoid and Repetition of Hatred. Songs in this cd is so good when you heard them on live shows! It's so much more different than the previous albums!

Totally Recommend It 5

I bought this whenever I heard about it being released out. The CD sold in American stores, however, were all misprints and the covers were really, really, dark and unable to be read. These were the cds that were distributed for American release.

Aaaanyways, this took a few times of listening to before I was able to like it and though they have once again changed their sound, they remain an awesome band. I would recommend picking it up, as it is worth the listening, just don't let the sound scare you off. Like I said, I enjoy listening to it now, but when I first bought it, I wasn't as attracted to it, but then again that was how I was with Diru at first. Kyo still is <3 though. ^^

I think it is still a great album, as the lyrics are still great. Concieved Sorrow, The Pledge, and Namamekashiki Ansoku, Tomadoi ni Hohoemi are songs that I really thought were exceptionally well.

~~The girly scream of DESTRUCTION~~ 5

I can't think of a better word for this album's power, aggression and darkness. True, a lot of Dir En Grey's songs are dark, but to me, this album truly lets out that anger, spitting their black bile over the ones that torment them.

Throughout the album, you'll be treated to some top-notch nu-metal/metalcore mixed with a few softer songs. Some of my favorites are LIE BURIED WITH A VENGEANCE, GRIEF, AGITATED SCREAMS OF MAGGOTS, and THE DEEPER VILENESS. I also loved THE PLEDGE, for it is very different. The version of CLEVER SLEAZOID included differs from the single version, and is more aggressive (Yes, apparently it was possible), but it's slightly harder to digest.

Kyo's voice is mostly growling and screaming hysterically, which is brilliant. <3 Call me a dork, but I adore the girly screams he lets out at times. The rest of the band skillfully do their parts splendidly, and with some decent backing growls too.

In my immediate area, hardly anyone found Dir En Grey's later work "music" of any kind. I suppose I can understand that, but if you'd take the time with this somewhat inaccessible album, you'll love it.

Darkness with unlimited depth... 5

In case you're wondering why I've reviewed both the regular and limited editions, it's because I'm such a fanataic that I own both versions.

Due to the limit of words that can be fit into a review, I can't go into detail on why I think every song on this album is sheer exellence. CONCIEVED SORROW is their greatest opening song ever. LIE BURIED WITH A VENGEANCE, THE FATAL BELIVER and GRIEF are some of their most aggressive songs ever. DISABLED COMPLEXES is a rollercoaster of extreme emotions. Track 9 is definitely the most emotional song while THE PLEDGE has been added to Dir en grey's evergrowing list of best songs.

AGITATED SCREAMS OF MAGGOTS sounds even better with the rest of the new album and the studio version of RYOUJOKU NO AME is superior to the single with better balance on the instruments. The re-recording of CLEVER SLEAZOID is nowhere near as good as the original, but it's a nice bonus. So if you haven't bought it yet, this edition is the only one available now, but it's well worth it. It's missing the unplugged disc, but the packaging is better though.

THE MARROW OF A BONE has definitely been worth the wait and has a darkness with unlimited depth.

Awesome 5

Wow, this really is a powerful album. I first got into DEG with their last album and I have to say I think this is even better; it's certainly more cohesive throughout. The production, writing and playing are all amazing, with massive-sounding sledgehammer riffs and Kyo's vocals are something else, he sounds like David Yow out of The Jesus Lizard. But possibly the best song on the record is also the slowest and prettiest. All in all a total success and one of my favourite albums for some time.

Completely surpassed all my expectations. :3

The only flaw I found, in my opinion, was Clever Sleazoid. I liked the single version a lot better.

Other than that it is perfect. The perfect screaming to singing ratio. =D
