初Blu-ray化! 松本零士のライフワークのひとつである"戦場まんがシリーズ"の中から厳選された3つのエピソードをOVA化。無名の兵士たちの生き様を描いた3つの戦場ドラマ。 ――■「成層圏気流」: ドイツ空軍のパイロット・ランダースは、夜間哨戒中に敵機に奇襲され愛機を捨てて脱出した。卑怯者の烙印を押された彼に、"汚名返上"の指令が下る。それは、「ある物」の空輸作戦を護衛するという任務だった。 ■「音速雷撃隊」: 戦局の悪化に伴って日本海軍は捨て身の最終兵器を作り出した。特別攻撃機"桜花"、有人ロケット兵器である。野上少尉は、その"桜花"による最初の特攻に失敗、その夜新たな仲間たちと戦争の愚かさ、無意味さを語り合いながらも、翌日再び"桜花"に乗り込む・・・。 ■「鉄の竜騎兵」: 陥落寸前の飛行場から援軍を求めて連隊司令部に辿り着いた少年兵・宇都宮だったが、連隊は既に撤退した後。取り残されていた古代一等兵と共に、仲間を救うべく側車で走り出す。途中、古代は若い宇都宮を降ろし、たった1人で飛行場へと向かう・・・。
