わたしが帰るところには、いつも猫(きみ)がいてくれる。少女漫画界の巨星・大島弓子が、飼い猫たちとのいとしい日常を綴った自伝的コミックエッセイをドラマ化した人気シリーズの続編。 主演の宮沢りえ、そして長塚圭史、黒木華、田中泯の豪華キャストが再集結。さらにアシスタント役に前田敦子、刑事役にイッセー尾形、麻子の同級生役に西田尚美という個性的かつ魅力あふれるキャストが加わる。前作では描き切れなかった、"グーグーと過ごした15年8ヶ月間"に起きた出来事を原作の設定をもとにして構築。前作のファンのみならず、今作から見る人も楽しめるオリジナルストーリー。 ――人気漫画家の小島麻子 (宮沢りえ)は、東京・吉祥寺の井の頭公園を望む自宅兼仕事場で、グーグーとビーの2匹の猫と暮らしている。アシスタントのミナミ (黒木華)は、麻子の非凡な才能に寄り添うように多忙な毎日を過ごしているが、漫画家としての独立を考え始めていた。そんな中、ミナミの後任としてアシスタント仲間の飯田 (前田敦子)が願い出るが・・・。
